I’m Patti Guinn, the owner and baker behind Banjo Bakehouse. I’ve raised three children and these days my only “pets” are my backyard chickens. I’ve baked for local markets like Greene Street and Cooke Avenue in the past and may return to them from time to time, but my primary joy is providing fresh bread for my immediate neighborhood and local community.

I first fell in love with sourdough in 1984 after finding a well‑worn copy of Laurel’s Kitchen Bread Book and teaching myself the craft long before the internet made it easy. After a long career as a pediatric occupational therapist and years of involvement in traditional foods and local farming, I started Banjo Bakehouse to share small‑batch, thoughtfully made sourdough with my Huntsville neighbors. The name reflects another big part of my life—playing banjo and making music.
